Beloved Fox News host Harris Faulkner is used to gracing our screens – especially when it comes to interviewing some of the nation’s most prominent figures…
But not many people know about her sweet relationship with husband Tony Berlin – and how the duo started as fierce competitors…
Their sweet love story began in 2003 when Faulkner and Berlin were both working on competing TV stations in Minnesota – Faulkner was at KSTP-TV, while Berlin was at WCCO-TV.
However, Faulkner ended up switching to Fox network, where she reportedly became so comfortable with the work environment that she would leave her hair in curlers while attending meetings… Colleagues even dubbed her the “Curler Lady”.
Who is Tony Berlin?
Berlin eventually left television, going into public relations – he now runs his own company Berlin Media Relations completely from home. According to the company site, it “focuses on securing top-tier national, key regional and local media placements as well as building brand awareness for clients,” and is “a direct connection to media and audiences that clients want to attract.”
He originally grew up in Tucson, Arizon, where he studied political science.
Faulkner and Berlin married in 2003, and in 2005 they moved to New York City, where they started their family – they share two daughters, Danika and Bella.
Speaking to People in 2020, Faulkner said: “My family is ecumenical, and it’s biracial, so the fact that we’re having [race conversations] is not a shock. It’s just the way we’re forced into acknowledging some things right now.”
She later added that it was “a blessing” to be raising bi-racial girls, saying that her daughters’ unique challenges were “beautiful”.
What Fox shows is Faulkner on?
Since Faulkner headed over to Fox, she started working on various shows. Currently, she anchors The Faulkner Focus on weekdays at 11:00am, and co-anchors Outnumbered one hour later at noon.
“Throughout her career, Faulkner has interviewed many notable figures, including Sen. John McCain, President Donald Trump, Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas, and Cindy McCain, among others,” her bio on the Fox site details.
It also adds: “Faulkner has also covered numerous global news events, including the Sandy Hook mass shooting, the 2016 and 2020 Republican and Democratic National Conventions, the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the death of Whitney Houston, the 2013 government shutdown, the AIDS crisis in South Africa, and the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway.”
Faulkner also previously worked A Current Affair on Fox 5 as a correspondent, as well as on The Nancy Grace Show on Headline News at CNN. Whew… What a career woman!
So far, Faulkner has taken home a whopping six Emmy Awards for her work in broadcasting, inclusive of Best Newscaster and Best News Special at the 2004 Emmys.
And, as if she couldn’t get any better, Faulkner even wrote a book, called 9 Rules of Engagement: A Military Brat’s Guide to Life and Success.
Her bio explains that the book “shares the lessons she learned growing up in a military family while paying homage to the military ideals that shaped her and showing how everyone can benefit from bringing the wisdom of military service into their lives.”
